MEETING THE CHALLENGE OF CLIMATE CHANGE
From the shores of the Great Lakes to the savannahs of the Great Rift Valley,
the results of climate change are increasingly evident.
In every kind of environment and region known to man…
increasingly dangerous weather patterns and devastating storms are abruptly
putting an end to the long-running debate over whether climate change is real.
Ecosystems are under immediate threat from the changing world. Though the full
impact of global warming has yet to manifest, the world around us is already
feeling the heat.
And yet, despite all the ominous harbingers of things to come, we have the opportunity
to set a different course, one that is not only possible, but full of hope and
promise.
With funds raised through the 
launched in 2007 by respected international travel company Abercrombie & Kent,
FOC will support efforts on all seven continents that incorporate grassroots
conservation as a strategy for mitigating global warming, and stem climate change
through reforestation, carbon sequestration to combat greenhouse gas emissions,
and research to monitor temperature change in fragile environments.
